Periwinkle Day Camp is a week-long summer day camp for children with cancer being treated at Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Centers and their siblings. The goal of Periwinkle Day Camp is to help these special children experience the joy of childhood away from the hospital routine. Research shows that camp enables them to feel good about themselves, realize they are not alone in what they are going through, reach goals they thought were no longer possible, and be “normal” children.
Periwinkle Day Camp provides a safe, emotionally healing and fantastic adventure that gives every camper the opportunity to grow in independence and self-esteem, leaving Periwinkle Day Camp a stronger survivor. Activities include interactive games, the rock wall, archery, arts and crafts and an epic Olympic Games day. Periwinkle Day Camp is free for all participants.
