There was not a dry eye in the Coulson Tough Elementary classroom as students surprised The Periwinkle Foundation representatives with a $30,000 check – the most the school has ever raised in the history of the annual Race for Awareness.

For the past three years, the school has hosted the Race for Awareness 5K and walk, focusing on different social issues, where the community is invited to join in a fun walk and/or run and businesses are encouraged to sponsor the event.
