This week’s edition of Make it a Splendid Week gives us the do’s and don’ts about touching a fish. Tessa’s poem The Flying Fish! coupled with Vinh’s drawing The Hungry Bass also makes us look for the beauty and opportunity in mistakes. Have you ever started something and ended up with a completely different finished product than first imagined? Make it a Splendid Week!

The Flying Fish!

I was drawing a cat, but I messed up and turned it into a fish.
It has rainbow skin, scales that feel hard and slimy. It jumps out and flies out of the ocean.

Once I felt a real fish. It was raw. Never touch a fish fin. They are sharp. Only touch its scales.
