This week’s edition of Make it a Splendid Week is out of this world. Deegans’ poem Where I’d Like to Be Today, coupled with Anfal’s drawing Planetary Plain has us wondering what it’s like to be an astronaut. It also has us fondly remembering our Periwinkle Day Camp trip to Space Center Houston back in the summer of 2019! There is so much to explore! Make it a Splendid Week!

Where I’d Like to Be Today

I like to go to NASA. When I went on a school field trip there, we tried out virtual reality. It felt like you were in outer space and fell to the ground. You left a space ship, went around a little bit, and then went back in.

I tried out the astronaut ice cream and I hated it. My mom was one of the chaperones when I went, and she didn’t like the ice cream either. The burgers and French fries there were good!

They had spaceships that looked real, but the people were fake, like manne- quins.

The only bad thing was the bus ride there took two hours, but it wasn’t too bad because there was a bathroom on the bus.
