Fill The Virtual Bus

The Periwinkle Foundation’s important mission is being realized in new ways as we creatively innovate our camps, arts, and survivor programming to stay connected with families this summer, and beyond!

Periwinkle Day Camp and Camp Periwinkle are going Virtual this summer, and we hope to provide our traditional programming through Camp YOLO, Periwinkle Family Camp, and the inaugural McAllen Family Camp this fall. Help us Fill the Virtual Bus to provide these meaningful opportunities for connection, community and creativity to children and families challenged by cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.

We hope we can count on you again to help us reach our Fill the Virtual Bus goal of $100,000 to connect 550 kids with Periwinkle programming. Campers like Brady are so excited to reunite with the Periwinkle community of healing!

Camp Periwinkle 2018

Dear Periwinkle Foundation

Every summer I look forward to going to camp. I’ve always wanted to go to camps like my siblings, but have never been able to because of my medical conditions. I was ecstatic when I found out there was a camp for me.

My first year, I was nervous to go because it was the first camp I’d ever been to, but it was comforting to have my brother right there with me. It was nice to know that I wasn’t the only one with medical conditions at the camp, and I was with people who understood me. The counselors made me feel extremely welcomed and I felt connected with them. One in particular was Blake. He was the very first one to walk up to me and let me experience the love that camp had to give.

I can’t wait to have one last dance and reunite with the “gang.” I hope one day to become a camp counselor and be able to give back all that Camp Periwinkle has given to me.

With love,
Brady
