Dear Periwinkle community,

Please know that you and your families continue to be in our thoughts as we navigate the changing environment. We miss you, and hope you are doing well!

activities in purple box for day campCan you believe we’re just 5 days away from Virtual Periwinkle Day Camp? 60 campers are eagerly awaiting a fun week to virtually connect in community and activities. This Virtual Periwinkle Day Camp box will be provided to every Day Camp family with all of the materials needed for them to bring the magic of Periwinkle Day Camp to life in their own home.

We look forward to Virtual Periwinkle Day Camp, and to learning from the experience as we prepare for Virtual Camp Periwinkle later in the summer!

Another exciting update is that today we are piloting the launch of iAIM – a new initiative of the Periwinkle Arts In Medicine Program at Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Centers to virtually connect our professional arts partners directly with patients at Texas Children’s Hospital. This exciting new initiative is another example of the ways your support has allowed us to creatively innovate our programming to serve our community.

Now more than ever, we know our campers, artists and survivors are craving connection and relationship. We recognize that part of the healing process occurs in community with others who have experienced similar challenges. That’s what makes the Periwinkle community of healing so special, and it’s why we remain committed to providing these opportunities for connection to our children and families.

And we know you too may be craving connection, so I encourage you to consider the ways you can stay engaged with Periwinkle.

  • Visit our website to write a virtual Postcard from the Road, and your message will be directly delivered to one of our young artists.
  • If you’re able, consider giving to Fill the Virtual Bus – a campaign to raise much needed support to provide opportunities for connection and empowerment to our Periwinkle kids
  • Mark your calendar! We look forward to gathering with you with you on October 2 for the Periwinkle Glamping Gala and on October 24 for the Periwinkle Kickball Classic. And we can’t wait to raise a glass together at Iron Sommelier, presented by Autosol, in the fall.

In closing, we hope to continue to stay connected with you and look forward to the continuation of both new and traditional Periwinkle camps, arts and survivor programs! We love hearing from you, so please continue to call, email or stay connected with us on social media. We hope you have a wonderful summer.

Sincerely,
